My favorite piece of technology

Hi class!

It's hard for me think in a piece of technology indispensable to live, because I can't be very attachment with technological object cause' I'm very volatile and forgetful with my stuffs, so I had to learn to survive out of home without cellphone, tablet or computer because it's always discharge or simply I don't charge or lose the charger.

But if you ask me for some technological article ( understanding techonolgy as an instrument to facility the life of humans)  that really help me in my daily life is the: agenda!

Well, ok. I know that it doesn't sound very exciting, but I believe that if it didn't exist I couldn't get to anything because simply I forget it. It's hard to be me, because I'm never sure of the dates or hour of the commitments I get ! And you will be wondering that if I forget everything the most probably is also forget my agenda, but no! because is a rule that it have to be always always on my bag, that is not the case of my cellphone for example that many times it stays in my house when I come to university.  And if I forget my agenda in the house... Oh God, that will be a big problem!

Expectations for a new semester

What's up?

I'm a really busy person but I love all the things I do! Let me see.. this is my 5th semester at the university, so there are a lot of academic work. I have seven subjects and all start with "law". Sometimes it's really boring, but anyway, I take part in an university political collective and we have a lot of assemblies and meetings to discuss about national and university contingency. Recently I entered the environment committee of the CED  (law students center) and I volunteer at recycling, this means teaching people to separate waste and encourage environmental stewardship.

With some friends, we are organizing a school for the social and political student action which aims to provide theoretical tools for both university students and school children can understand the situation and act! This project is thinking to start in may, so I have a lot of work!

I try to do exercise, but sometimes is hard to have time, so when I reach window without anything to do, go to the swimming pool of the university in Mapocho. I walk to get there and I relax.

For these semester, two saturdays a month I go to FEN (Faculty of economic and business) to political classes that make professors of this university and other people that invite.

The another time that I have time, I stay with muy friends and laugh a lot, I stay with my family and dogs and watch movies.

Ah! I forgot say that I'm starting a bussiness of muffins. I do muffins of chocolate and blueberries and I sale to my friends and my classmates. The objetive is save money to travel in the winter vacation to Perú with my friends.

I hope this semester will be very fruitful to learn a lot of law ( mmm ok, maybe not jaja), but also to grow as person and things like that. I'm sure I wouldn't leave to do any of the things I do for have excellent academic qualifications and be distinguished, because I really believe that the most important is do the things we like and move to be happy.

Something like my auto biography

Hello to everyone!

My name is Alena and one of the first things I can say is that I really like my name. My father created it and It have not any meaning, but for me is really special because I never met some girl with my same name and this makes me feel unique.

I was born on Santiago de Chile the 5th of June of 1993. I live with my parents, my little sister  and my two dogs that I love: Atila and Maya. Maya is my favorite dog in the world; she’s a golden retriever and is really restless and jumpy.

When I was 5 years old I had my first pet: Almendra. She was a lovely cocker spaniel, but when she was 10 years old, she missed and I never could found her. I really felt sad at that time. Then I had another dog (I love dogs if you don't note it), but she died because she had a very large esophagus that didn't allow food to reach her stomach. That was the sadness thing it could happen.

I always went to the same school from kindergarten to the secondary: Colegio San José, in San Bernardo. That was really comfortable and nice. When I was a little girl I was very shy, but when I grow up, I had  a lot of friends and I enjoined played with other childrens of the neighborhood to the hide and seek, las naciones or another children's plays.

I always was interested at the history, art and science topics. When I was at 8th grade of primary, I took a course of english and I learned a lot.   I participated two  summers in courses of philosophy and sociology. There I met wonderful people that still being my friends. I love chilean music, jazz, bossa nova. I prefer the soft music, but I also really like classic rock.

Now… Why am I studying law? That’s a really good question. I always said: “¡I NEVER GOING TO STUDY LAW!” and.. See me here. Well, when a I was a little girl, a wanted to be an archaeologist (like Indiana Jones) and dreamed with discover treasures and all that things. Then I wanted to be paleontologist, sociologist , social working and well... one day I thought in law and the posibilities that have this major to change the world. Okay.. it sounds naive, but it isn't. I really believe in the social organization as a way to transform the society in a community more fair to all the people and think the law just like a tool to change the paradigms of the capitalist society.
